George J.
Franks, IV, is a graduate of the University of Florida and Campbell University School of Law. Mr. Franks is also "Doctor"
Franks. He holds a Ph.D in Psychology from West Virginia University and is a licensed clinical psychologist, as well as an
attorney. To the best of our knowledge, he is the only person in North Carolina who actively practices in both disciplines.
Mr. Franks is a published author in both the fields of law and psychology.
Mr. Franks
was an Assistant District Attorney in Cumberland County, NC and served as the attorney for the Cumberland County Sheriff's
Department for seven years prior to entering private practice. Now, Mr. Franks splits his time between criminal defense and
civil litigation. He is the veteran of numerous capital cases as both a prosecutor and a defense lawyer. Recently, utilizing
his experience as attorney for the Sheriff's Department, he has taken up the cause of law enforcement officers in civil and
criminal actions.
